Owen is one of the popular kids. He made track team captain last year as a junior, he’s active in JROTC, and he’s in a “non-exclusive relationship” with Margrit Berkshire. Owen’s family is not one of the Big Six, but people often say the DeWhitts are the next best thing. He has a bit of a rep as a jock bully, and he especially seems to have it out for Lexi Ryan and Knucker Polk. He’s been picking on them since they were all in kindergarten together and doesn’t seem like he’ll be letting up any time soon.

As to the man himself, Owen is not exactly Mr. Talkative. When he does talk, it’s generally brusque and to the point- or downright rude. His friends have learned to read his body language, but he’s generally a surly enigma as far as the rest of the world is concerned.

Owen’s closest friends are Julian Hollinger and Margrit. The three have known each other since they were all in diapers. Owen also spends a good deal of time with the track team, but doesn’t appear particularly close with any of them. As captain, he’s known for being a hardass but good at the role and most of the team doesn’t have a bad word to say about him.

On the flip side, he has it in for Lexi and Knucker and especially goes out of his way to torment Lexi; he barely speaks to Knucker. (Mostly he glares.) His friends have never been able to reason with him when it comes to those two.

Recently, Owen has been seen hanging around with Robbie Kilpatrick, a metalhead computer wiz from a vastly different social circle. When asked, Owen denies that they’re friends.

At eighteen, Owen is a senior at Silent Pines High and a solid B student; his parents expect nothing less. His best subject is math and he’s tutored Julian in the past when her grades were slipping. Owen expects to enter a military career after graduating high school.
